Grooming

Regular grooming is essential for reasons beyond appearance but for keeping your pet healthy, clean, and comfortable. Many skin and coat conditions can be prevented or managed by an appropriate grooming routine. Some breeds require more regular grooming than others. Curly coated dogs that do not shed (poodles, doodles) require grooming every 6-12 weeks. It is also important to maintain your pet's coat at home with regular brushing to avoid matting, where the hair becomes tight, tangled, and can cause pain and skin infection.
Meet Chris Ervay, he has been grooming at Bayleaf for over 20 years! Chris is a fully licensed and insured groomer who loves keeping your pets happy and comfortable during service. When not grooming dogs, he likes hanging out with his Brussels Griffon Izzy, or spending time with his chickens. Chris is very skilled at all sorts of breed cuts, such as poodles, schnauzers, and shih tzus. All grooming appointments include a bath and nail trim. If your pet has a medical need (such as requires sedation or may have seizures), we can try to accomodate you so they can still have their grooming needs met.

You can also always book a bath at Bayleaf without a full groom. Our special, cleansing baths remove dirt, debris and that doggie pet odor – your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. If scratching is a problem, our medicated baths contain soothing agents that stop the itching. Services also include nail trim and ear cleaning. Baths are performed by our kennel staff and nursing staff.
