Our Story
Dr. Craig Wilson opened Bayleaf Veterinary Hospital in 1982, and has been serving pets in the Raleigh area ever since.
When Bayleaf first opened, all the patient files for the entire practice fit in just a few folders. Check out the manila accordion files to the left of his head, those folders! Many of those early clients still bring their pets to the practice. Bayleaf has grown greatly since then, thanks to referrals from our loyal clients.
Dr. Wilson’s main partner in the early years was his wife, Pam. They even lived full-time in the practice for the first year. This era is why subsequent generations of Bayleaf employees have been baffled to discover that Bayleaf to this day hosts a rather nice shower-bath.Bayleaf’s veterinary technicians are dedicated veterinary assistants who help Bayleaf provide the best veterinary care possible. Today, Bayleaf helps many pets in the greater triangle area. We have grown over the last 40 years, but still strive to take care of each patient like they are family. We are still privately owned by Dr. Craig WIlson and we work hard to make genuine connections with our clients. We greatly prioritize customer service, compassionate care, and high quality yet accessible medicine. Whether you have been a client since Dr. Wilson first opened the doors or are new to us, we hope you will feel like we are a team in the care and health of your pet.
